My (easy) homemade solid fanless laptop cooler / stand. Made out of scrap chipboard and rubber toilet valves . Its supposed to work by airflow created by convection. My 2006 ebay macbook gets really hot at times (usually only with flash web video) so I'm hoping this stand will help to some extent. It has a great angle for typing and plenty of gaps for air circulation. I will post back after a 1 month trial to say if it helps with overall cooling. Thanks so much for looking ! The issue is the amount of humidity in the air. condensation can occur even in warm air if the % humidity in the air is high enough (just walk around in a warm foggy day). If the air is bone dry, you can be cool and you will not condense since there is nothing to condense. For any intermediate humidity, the condensation will occur at lower temperatures for lower humidity since it will require the lower temperature for the moisture to undergo a phase transition. If you take a cold item and make it warmer suddenly, there will not be any condensation if the environmental air has not changed in humidity and you did not experience condensation when it was cold. If you, on the other hand change the amount of humidity by taking the cold object outside into humid warmer air, you will experience condensation since the water in the humid air surrounding the cold object will condense onto the surface of the object. Starting off in the air department we have the Frio Extreme which is similar in design to past Frio series air coolers from Thermaltake, but the Extreme version which will come out sometime in Q1 2012 takes things to a whole new level being able to provide up to 250 watts of CPU cooling ability. Included on the cooler are two 120mm cooling fans and two aluminum heat blocks with six heatpipes. This cooler also comes with a new fan controller attached to it which allows you to adjust the fan speed in a small little black unit. Next up we have a range of water cooling products from Thermaltake which will also be displayed at CES and go on sale by the end of Q1 2012. It is the Water 2.0 series including the Water 2.0 Performer, Water 2.0 Pro and the Water 2.0 Extreme. Some of these coolers are based on similar designs that are already out on the market since now Thermaltake and other companies use the same design as provided the same supplier. This is my homemade swamp cooler that I made out of a 18 gallon storage bin. I am using a Holmes Blizzard fan to blow out the cool air. The air gets cooled by a wetted media pad. The media pad is synthetic, and the brand is CoolPad, which you can find at some of the big box hardware stores. A fountain pump is used to keep the pad wet. I built the frame for the pad out of Legos, and used zip ties to attach the PVC pipe and the pad to the frame. Yes, the water is usually green, and this is from the cooling pad.

Here is my updated Cooler Master 690 II Advanced rig. I took out the h50 and installed a custom water cooled system. I also removed the gtx 260 that i was using for physx, because i don't really play any physx supported games besides metro 2033. I beat the game and realized i was just wasting power and space. It also improved airflow to my gtx 570. The water cooling system keeps my i7 920 overclocked currently to 4.01 Ghz (Multiplier at 21 and Bclk at 191 or something) 36 - 40 degrees C at idle and 65 - 70 degrees C at full load for 30 min on prime 95. The trailer follows almost the same exact tire path as the rear tire on the bike, leans into the corners the same way as the bike and takes the bumps even better than the bike, thanks to the uniquely engineered air suspension of the trailer. We loaded it with coolers, some folding chairs, rain gear, etc, (about 50 lbs worth) so we added 4lbs of air to the shocks which was perfect.

I will not only introduce you to the chiller but also briefly explain how it works. Just to clarify: When I said that there is no other way to refrigerate, I meant that moving heat is the only way to refrigerate, however, vapour compression cooling is not the only option. Evaporative coolers do not move heat to an outdoor unit, but instead, they cause water to absorb heat from the air via evaporation, and then that warm water vapour is blown outside through another window in the room. There is also solid-state thermoelectric cooling, which uses no evaporator, condenser, compressor, or any moving parts, just the Peltier effect. There are also magneto-caloric, thermoacoustic, and absorption refrigerators which all work very differently. The "gas line access valve" is just a valve attached to the evaporator coil, and the liquid line valve I mentioned is the same type of valve, just that it lets you add or remove refrigerant from the condenser.
