MAKE A LOW COST AQUARIUM COOLING COOLER SYSTEM

MAKE A LOW COST AQUARIUM COOLING COOLER SYSTEM Video Clips. Duration : 5.45 Mins.

Steps and construction of a low cost cooling system for your aquarium. Peltier cooling systems for aquarium cost 300 to 350 $ and are very inefficient around 5 to 10%. This cooling method is low cost about 40$ and is as efficient as your freezer. Needed items: 1- Temperature controller with a cooling relay. (got mine from Ebay user quality_link2000 search "aquarium temperature controller" ) 2- Small pump (from a small fountain, Ebay ( 190425388193 search (DC Submersible Fountain Pond Water Pump). Or something like this item 170521895519, or 250677267966 solar pump ), ...). 3- 1/4 inch plastic tubing, about 12 feet. (Home Depot, RONA ...) 4- Styrofoam box (cooler box for camping, at Canadian tires, RONA, home depot...) 5- 1 plastic box for water holding that fits in the cooler.(From Dollar store). 6- 1 plastic box for ice that fits in item # 5. (From Dollar store) 7- 1/4 inch copper tubing, about 10 feet. From Rona, home depot... ***************** NOTE: Be carefull about using the copper tubing. Verify the PH of your aquarium as the copper my leach in the water and kill your fish. You can simply coil the plastic tubing in the cooler the same way I coiled the copper. The heat transfer will take longer time but better safe than sorry. Or you may use stainless steel or thin plastic tubing instead of the copper.
