VW Type 1 engine starts after no spark and one dry carb issues resolved. ( Two prior videos, cranking the engine to try to get oil pressure, and having it start on one side only, I did not post. ) Top end job on former single port, AS41 case, full flow oil filter system, doghouse oil cooler, dellorto 34FRD carbs. Had some issues during assembly, two cylinders shortened .010 to even out the deck clearance, flycut job gone wrong on one head ( .030 deep ) necessitated carving a huge volume out of the chambers with a die grinder to compensate. Deck clearance is .050 +/- 005, compression ratios all between 7.81 and 7.89 . Didn't split the case, but did replace the rod bearings, drilled the flywheel for eight dowels, drilled and tapped for full-flow.
