The 6.0L Ford Powerstroke has it's issues, we all know that. We can either sit around and wine about it or fix these issues and make our trucks reliable and fun to drive. The best place to start is deleting the faulty EGR cooler. These coolers are known to crack and either cause and external coolant leak or even worse an internal coolant leak. Once coolant starts mixing with your oil you are asking for trouble. Coolant takes the viscosity out of the oil and allows scoring of the main and rod bearings. The following is a step by step instruction of how to install the EGR delete yourself with basic hand tools. We did this install the hard slow way so any shade tree mechanic can follow along. No fancy power tools or air tools where used because not everyone has these kinds of tools in their arsenal.
